The first gear may not be going in due to several reasons. It could be a problem with the clutch not fully disengaging, preventing the gear from engaging properly. There could also be issues with the gear synchronizers or the gear linkage, causing difficulty in shifting into first gear. Additionally, low transmission fluid levels or a worn clutch could also be contributing factors to the gear not going in smoothly. It is recommended to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle to diagnose and fix the issue. **
